Data Science Services

The Translational Data Analytics Institute's Data Science Services provide researchers assistance with all aspects of the research data science lifecycle, from individual consultations with TDAI data analysts and scientists, to services incorporated into grant proposals as a component of your project. TDAI's pool of stellar undergraduate data analytics majors can also help execute various analytics tasks.

Data Science Services include:

  • designing data workflows and infrastructure
  • discovering datasets
  • exploring, analyzing, and visualizing data
  • making interdisciplinary research connections across TDAI core and affiliate faculty
  • facilitating services related to designing cyberinfrastructure architecture to complement data design

Dr. Alex Davis serves as the lead of TDAI’s Data Science Services, which aims to support data related faculty research at any stage of the research data lifecycle. Prior to joining TDAI he worked as a Data Analytics Consultant at the Wexner Medical Center; where provided analytics support, predictive modeling and natural language processing to clinical faculty, business units and hospital executives. He received his doctorate in physics from the Ohio State University in theoretical physics.

 

Dr. Yuehua "Zoe" Duan joined TDAI in July of 2023 as the Senior Analyst of TDAI’s Data Science Services. Prior to joining TDAI, she completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science and obtained her Graduate Certificate in Applied Artificial Intelligence from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Zoe's academic foundation has equipped her with a profound comprehension of advanced analytical techniques. Her research primarily focuses on machine learning, data mining, and recommender systems, with a specific emphasis on applying recommender systems for customer loyalty management. Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., she worked as a software engineer at SAS, where she developed extensive proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and acquired a deep understanding of data management and security protocols across diverse relational databases and data warehouses.

Rates

At the right are hourly rates for Data Science Services project agreements signed before June 30, 2027. 

OSU Clients:

  • Senior staff (PhD): $150
  • Junior staff (PhD): $114

Non-OSU Clients:

  • Senior staff (PhD): $205
  • Junior staff (PhD): $170

Office Hours


TDAI Data Science Services hold open office hours in 350 Pomerene Hall at the following times. Graduate students are welcome. 

  • Tuesdays, 10-11 a.m.
  • Wednesdays, 3-4 p.m.
