Jared Gardner came to the English Department in 1999, and over the course of 25 years he has taught courses on American literature, film, popular culture, comics, environmental humanities, medical humanities, and science fiction. He has served as the director of the Popular Culture Studies minor for the past 15 years, and is currently dividing his time between English and the University Senate, where he serves as Secretary. Prof. Gardner is a frequent collaborator with the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, where he has worked as a curator on several exhibitions, including, most recently, Drawing Blood: Comic & Medicine.
