Dennis Hirsch Invested as Lawrence “Larry” Herman Professor in Law

The Translational Data Analytics Institute is proud to congratulate affiliate faculty member Dennis Hirsch, who was formally invested as the Lawrence "Larry" Herman Professor in Law at the Moritz College of Law on Friday, October 3rd.
The investiture ceremony, a high honor in academia, celebrated Professor Hirsch's distinguished contributions to the field of law, particularly at the intersection of data, privacy, and ethics. He was joined by friends, family, and colleagues from across the university, including partners at TDAI, to mark this significant achievement.
Dennis Hirsch is a Professor of Law and a core faculty member of TDAI, specializing in AI and Data Ethics and Governance. He directs the Program on Data and Governance (a joint initiative of the Law College and TDAI) and co-directs the Responsible Data Science Community of Practice. Recognized for his expertise in privacy law and the ethical use of advanced analytics, he has consulted with policymakers, including testifying before the U.S. Senate, making his role central to ensuring trustworthy and just data innovation at Ohio State and beyond.
