The focus of this course is on the appreciation of data analytics as applied to current and emerging public health issues. In this course, students will be exposed to foundational concepts in data analytics that are relevant to the design, analysis, and interpretation of data-driven decision-making in public health with special attention to design of epidemiologic studies, health care management, health promotion, and environmental health. Students will work on semester-long data challenges based on real-world problems facing public health and health care systems right here in Ohio.
