Joint Human–AI Systems Panel Brings Cross-Disciplinary Perspectives Together at Ohio State
The Translational Data Analytics Institute (TDAI recently hosted a community event marking the close of the first semester of its yearlong theme, Joint Human–AI Systems in an Agentic World. The event featured a fast-paced panel discussion followed by a casual social hour, bringing together researchers from across Ohio State to reflect on human–AI collaboration.
Moderated by Mike Rayo, theme lead for Joint Human–AI Systems, the panel included Darryl Hood, Srinivasan “Srini” Parthasarathy, Sachin Kumar, and Peter Kvam, each offering perspectives from their respective disciplines. Panelists discussed how humans and AI systems can work together in complex settings, along with the design, governance, and trust challenges shaping this work.
Following the panel, attendees continued the conversation during an informal social hour, connecting across disciplines and identifying potential opportunities for collaboration. The discussion reinforced a central goal of the theme: strengthening Ohio State’s cross-campus community around human–AI teaming.
The Joint Human–AI Systems in an Agentic World theme will continue throughout the academic year with additional events and programming.
