Hirsch joins international OECD AI expert group

TDAI core faculty Dennis Hirsch, professor in law and computer science and the director of Program on Data and Governance, has been invited to contribute to shaping international AI policy and standards as a member of the Organization on Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) expert group on AI. The OECD.AI Expert Group on Risk & Accountability, a high-level, international group that is part of the OECD.AI Policy Observatory, seeks to articulate connections between emerging international standards for trustworthy AI and identify common threads among them to produce global, interoperable standards that work across and link various emerging models.

In addition to policy makers, the OECD.AI expert network engages organizations including the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CEN-CENELEC), European Commission (EC), Council of Europe (CoE), UNESCOEU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC) and Responsible AI Institute (RAII)-WEF.
